My first impressions of the Jasci & Marchesani Nerubè Riserva Montepulciano D'abruzzo were "‘whoa’ is that chocolate?" Then flavors of berries hit my palate and I was pleasantly surprised. I did not expect this level of sophistication from a wine at this price point - period. This wine has made it close to the top of my go-to list.
I'd say that the best pairing for this lovely wine would be foods that are spicy and slightly bitter such as pasta dishes like Cavatelli with Rapini and Spicy Sausage or a good Putanesca with olives and chilies. It would also make a nice compliment to stuffed peppers or cabbage rolls.

Jasci & Marchesani Nerubè Riserva Montepulciano D'abruzzo 2010, D.O.C., Abruzzo, Italy: Blueberry jam with some pepper with blackberry preserves mid-palate. Rich, round and full-bodied. This is technically a dry wine but it has jammy, fleshy sweet fruit aromas and flavours. If you love shiraz from warm regions in Australia, you'll love this.
