Matt Steeves, Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Tasted blind, November 21, 2013. An iconic California red blend (82% Cab Sauv, 7% Merlot, 7% Cab Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec) that's deep ruby with a purple hue showing no signs of any aging yet. Nose is complex with dark berries, blueberry jam, leather, tobacco, spice, graphite, and a touch of damson plum. Palate is full of delicious dark berries, stewed fruit, baking spices, leading to a long baking spice and molasses finish. Very drinkable now and will continue to evolve in the bottle over the next five years.
93 points.
Sean O'Regan Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Nov 21, 2013: Blind tasting NCSG Vintages pre-release. Deep ruby purple, beautiful nose showing cassis, plum, raspberry, cherry, floral and spice. Smooth, round on the palate with lower acidity, with some jammy fruit but not confected, herb, mineral and nice grip with fine tannins and medium long finish. Well made wine that is approachable now or for short term cellaring.
