Nov 21, 2013: Blind tasting NCSG Vintages pre-release. Deep ruby, nose showing cherry, berry, currant, spice, dusty minerality, chocolate, balsamic note, tobacco, savoury herb/sage notes. Repeat on the palate, savoury, cherry, spice, velvety smooth mouthfeel, tannins still have grip balanced by the fruit and acidity, this should last into the next decade. Food friendly with pasta and meat sauce and grilled/braised beef. Wine flight favorite.
Crognolo Tenuta Sette Ponti 2010, I.G.T., Tuscany, Italy: Dry and mouth-watering with savoury herbs and tart cherry aromas. Full-bodied, but not heavy. Decant 2 hours. The finish is inflected with anise, pepper and blackberry. Drink: 2016-2025. 727636 14% XD 750 mL $24.95 Score: 88/100. November 23, 2013 Perfect Pasta and Tomato Sauce Wine Full Review
