Tasty dark fruit with smoke, dark chocolate, leather and vanilla; all mixed together with a long finish. Beautiful wine in that sweet $20 range. I don't know about you, but I am having a big steak with this one.
Columbia Crest Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Horse Heaven Hills, Washington State, United States: A terrific full-bodied red wine with a smooth, supple texture. Enticing aromas of mocha and dark chocolate from oak aging, along with fleshy blackberry, mouth-watering juiciness. Supple and juicy with dark fruit and lovely layers violets and meaty notes. Perfect wine for watching CSI but it doesn’t take a forensic scientist to figure out how good it is. Pair with rare steak. Drink: 2013-2016. 210047 14.50% D 750 mL $19.95 Score: 91/100.
