Limited and tough to find for a reason. 2011 was far from a banner year for red wines in the Okanagan, but this is still tasty. Cherries and cranberries greet your nose. Just a hint of mint. Black cherry and blackberry on the palate, with a touch of vanilla. Lovely but would improve with a few years of carefully cellaring.
Quails' Gate Estate Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Okanagan Valley, BC VQA, Canada: Rich, dark, layered and full-bodied with fleshy black plums and berries that you can almost squeeze with your tongue to the roof of your mouth. Yet this is a dry and balanced wine wrapped in mocha and toasty oak. Balanced with a long finish. One of BC's and Canada's best wine producers. Drink: 2013-2018. 639617 14% D 750 mL $26.99 Score: 92/100. February 1, 2014 Full Review
