I have one bottle left of this gorgeous Merlot in my wine rack. A complex and elegant wine with aromas of juicy plums and cherries, smoke and a hint of spice. It's a full-bodied wine on the palate with those dark fruits accompanied by flavors of licorice, smoke and some oak. This gorgeous Merlot will go with most meats you can serve, including pork, beef and lamb.
Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Merlot 2009, V.Q.A., Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada: Liquid gorgeous! Full-bodied, savoury, mouth-watering, knee-bending. Aromas of black plums, bacon, smoke, hedonism. Just the right amount of oak like a loosely thrown shawl over an evening dress. Drink: 2014-2019. 585737 14% XD 750 mL $41.95 Score: 93/100.
