A concentrated core of blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry fruit, combined with firm but ripe tannin. The addition of 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Syrah to the blend adds complexity to the palate. This medium to full bodied wine offers both power and finesse and has the structure to develop in bottle over the next 5 years. Great for steak night.
Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Apalta Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Colchugua Valley, Chile: A full-bodied red with a towering structure, great depth of black fruit and tar flavour and a good grip on the palate. Decant for 2 hours for maximum pleasure. Long finish. Could use cellar time to mellow. Drink: 2014-2019. 947929 14.50% XD 750 mL $24.95 Score: 90/100. September 28, 2013 Best Beef Wine Full Review
