It's no secret amongst my wine friends that I love Amarone. The dark richness of sundried grapes makes my mouth water. This Amarone delivers it all. Deep and smooth. Plush dark fruit, prunes, raisin, oak, leather and dupicated on the palate. This wine needs food. Roasted meats, grilled burgers, pasta with bison meat sauce. Salty cheeses would also stand up to this wine. Stilton perhaps? Let me know. Decanting only made it better!
Villa Annaberta Amarone Della Valpolicella 2009, D.O.C., Veneto, Italy: Loaded with toasty, charry oak. Black fruit and smoke underneath this full-bodied bruiser. Decant 2 hours. Drink it with prime rib. Drink: 2015-2020. 338921 15% XD 750 mL $35.95 Score: 90/100. August 17, 2013 Heavenly Hamburger Wine Full Review
