rated this wine as 91/100
with the following review:
Fruit appears a bit hidden at first nosing, but after some time in glass opens up. Austere, damp earth, red currants, sage and a hint of bacon.
On the palate, bing cherries with a tart undertone. A bit more oak than many PN, but higher acid holds this together nicely. Tart finish, most definitely a food wine.
Has enough structure to hold up to lighter grilled dishes, such as chicken and grilled vegetables. Perfect with a mushroom risotto.
Tasted May 2014.
Re-tasted July 2015: re-rated to 91 from previous 89. An extra year of aging has added depth and balance.
