What a great wine at a great price. The medium to full bodied Bordeaux which is Merlot heavy is full of rich flavors. Jammy fruits with a hint of vanilla, this affordable delicious wine was one of the gems I discovered while studying French wine. Great with a BBQ.
Château De La Grave Caractère Philippe & Valérie Bassereau Meritage 2009, A.C., Côtes De Bourg, Bordeaux, France: Black, brooding and absolutely phenomenal for the price, especially for Bordeaux. Loaded with toasty oak and tar and smoke. Full-bodied and layered. Good finish. Decant 2 hours and pair with a big, juicy steak. Drink: 2013-2017. 224683 13% XD 750 mL $17.95 Score: 91/100.
