Andrew Bernardo Wine Journal
rated this wine as 91/100
with the following review:
2007 didn't have the same luster as 2004, 2005, and even 2006 in my opinion. However, there are some good wines out there to be found. The Eguia features fresh and dried cherry, red currants, cumin, leather, vanilla, herbs, cola, mineral, and star anise. After 6 hours decanting, almost develops a bois bande note. Exceptional. 91 points. (ottawawinejournal.com)
Viña Eguía Reserva 2007, D.O.C.A., Rioja, Spain: Grapes from 30-year-old vines and the wine is matured for 2 years in American oak. Full-bodied with attractive aromas and flavours of dark fruit and smoke. Try it with grilled meats. Drink: 2013-2015. 325845 13.50% XD 750 mL $17.95 Score: 89/100.
