Louise Wilson ISG Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Wild berry and cedar notes with an overall masculine feel. The concentrated fruit is balanced by fresh acidity and med to high tannic grip. Partner up with a cheesy pepperoni pizza. Drink through 2014. Tasted Jan 2014.
Heather Wall Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Love the Amarone style in this wine. Lots of dried dark fruit with a hint of sweetness in the aroma and finish. Ruby red and medium+ body. Hard cheeses, game meats or classic BBQ burgers. Can't go wrong. Will be buying a couple more bottles for storage.

Capitel Nicalò Tedeschi Appassimento Classico Superiore Valpolicella 2011, D.O.C., Veneto, Italy: Black cherry liqueur richness and depth of flavour, though this is a dry wine. Full-bodied with terrific and satisfying layers of flavour. Great value in this bottle. “Appassimento” means "drying" and refers to the fact that the grapes are dried before pressing, which adds richness, depth and flavour to the wine. Some pepper, smoke and black cherry on the finish. Drink: 2012-2016. 984997 13% D 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 89/100. June 8, 2013 Best Value Red Wine. Heavenly Hamburger Wine  Full Review
