This special wine won a bronze medal for late harvest wines at the 2011 Canadian Wine Awards!
The Frontenac Gris product is truly a bottle of County magic. It is light amber in color with a golden hue. The nose has aromas of apricot, fig and candied lemon peel while on the palate there are marmalade, honey, raisin and baked apple notes.
There is a beautiful balance of acidity and sweetness and it lingers enticingly on the finish.
Maybe it should have been called "Forbidden Fruit?"
This would pair GREAT with a dessert such as a Pineapple & Macadamia nut tart OR a chilled stone fruit compote (peach, nectarine, apricote, plum) with crème frâiche.
