Darlene Myers CAPS Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

I was just home visiting Newfoundland and had the opportunity to drink one of my favorite Merlot wines. Big, plump and juicy that velvety devil is. 91% Merlot gives it juicy flavors of cherry, cedar and tobacco. The 9% Cabernet Sauvignon gives it great structure and excellent tannins. I enjoy this wine with everything from stuffed chicken breasts to grilled pork. And under $20, great wine at a great price.
Jeannine Jiral rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

This medium to heavy bodied wine explodes with rich aromas of dark cherries, cedar and tobacco followed by flavors of rich dark cherry and dark chocolate. The smooth tannins balance the rich fruit. Dry finish. Great with steak, lasagna or even dark chocolate dessert.
