The 2011 Passo Doble Malbec Corvina has a full bouquet of pine, yeast and pomegranate on the nose and earth and pomegranate on the palate. Slight sulphur notes were also noted. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine with forward acidity, subtle to refined tannins (decant for 30 min) and a finish of medium length. It is a food friendly wine; drink now and for the next 1-2 years. My impression for this Corvina dominated wine: NOTHING SPECIAL, 86-87 pts. Tasted June/13.

Masi Malbec Corvina 2011, Uco Valley, Argentina: Black fruit, smoke, oak and tar on the nose with terrific full-bodied weight and layers of black fruit flavour on the palate. Terrific price. Perfect for pizza night. Drink: 2013-2015. 620880 13.50% XD 750 mL $13.95 Score: 87/100. March 7, 2013 Smart Buy Wine Full Review
