Mark Cochrane Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

I've tried their Big House White so why not try their Big House Zinfandel. It's a blend with mostly Zinfandel (80%) and it's not as heavy as some pure Zinfandel's but it has that nice rich jammy dark fruit that comes with a Zin. Some malolactic fermentation helps give it a softer feel. Cardinal Zin pairs nicely with BBQ pork tenderloin .
Carla rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

I picked up this bottle because the name fits really well with my Cooking With Sin project and it's a really good bang for the buck. It has a lovely, clear ruby red colour with lightly roasted and smokey raisins and blackberries. It ends with a gentle bitter chocolate finish. Being from the east, I have only recently been introduced to the red zins and they are now among my favourites.

Cardinal Zin Big House Zinfandel 2011, California, United States: Incredibly great price for such a delicious, full-bodied red! Smoky with toasty oak, mocha and fleshy black plum aromas. Smooth on the palate. Ready to go when you are. Drink: 2013-2015. 272401 13.50% XD 750 mL  $12.95 Score: 89/100. March 7, 2013 Heavenly Hamburger Wine  Full Review
