Bethann McLaren rated this wine as
90/100 with the following review:
An off-dry to medium dry Riesling, but with tons of bracing acidity that balances it out beautifully. Obvious petrol on the nose with lots of ripe stone fruit, bordering on tropical fruit (passionfruit, melon type of thing). Layers of marmalade, candied citrus and honey on the palate. A fairly light bodied wine, but the residual sugar gives a very velvety, full mouth feel. Buy it and drink it up stat!
Dan Trcka rated this wine as

The 1999 Reichsgraf Von Kesselstatt Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese has intense notes of yellow apple and lifted notes of estery petrol; also light, buttery champione notes emerge on the finish of excellent length. It has a medium, integrated body and a good balance between residual sugar (medium sweetness), acidity and fruit. Enjoy on its own for the next 3-5 years. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts - 14 year old Riesling for $20 translates into BUY BUY BUY before it’s sold out! Tasted Feb/13.
