Tawse Winery Inc. Meritage 2007, V.Q.A., Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: This blend of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 27% Franc is incredibly dark and concentrated with a rich core of fleshy black fruit, smoke and dark chocolate notes. It's a big bruiser from one of Niagara's best vintages on record, 2007, and the richness of the fruit shows through. This wine was aged in small French oak barrels for those smoky, vanilla spice aromas: absolutely yummy! You can order this wine directly from the winery at www.tawsewinery.ca.
