Natalie's Review

Callabriga Sogrape 2008, D.O.C., Dão, Portugal: Vintages Wine Panel: Since opening its doors in 1942, Sogrape has expanded to include winemaking properties in Chile, Argentina and New Zealand. Intense notes of plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, black licorice and spice on the nose. The palate is supple with grippy tannins, intense fruit, minerality and a spiciness that makes the whole thing sing. Superbly well made and structured. My note: Black cherry liqueur on the nose and palate. This is a big, black brooding wine: Heathcliffe on the moor lost in the rains. Black fruit and smoke. Whompingly delicious!
