Natalie's Review

Leone De Castris Villa Santera Primitivo Di Manduria 2008, D.O.C., Puglia, Italy: Vintages Wine Panel: With a history dating back to 1665, Leone de Castris has a rich and long-standing winemaking tradition. This complex Primitivo shows notes of licorice, plum and dried fruit. The palate is dry, rich and layered, with a spicy tone and a very long, herbal-nuanced finish. My note: Black, savoury, brooding and delicious. This is a blackberry liqueur blockbuster with a tobacco smoke finish. Fantastic with meaty dishes. Drink: 2011-2014. 730952 15% XD 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 88/100. February 19, 2011  Full Review
