Domaine Le Grand Retour Plan De Dieu Grenache Blend 2009, A.C., Côtes Du Rhône-Villages, France: In 2010, this wine won Gold Medals at both the Concours Général Agricole in Paris and the Concours des Vins in Orange. Winemaking has been going on in the Côtes du Rhone region since pre-Roman times. This Grenache blend is a beguiling, inky red that brims with aromas and flavours of blueberry, blackberry, chocolate, licorice, cedar spice, and herbs de Provence. A medium- to full-bodied Rhône red that’s ready to enjoy. My note: terrific cedar-rich red with spicy black cherries that dance across your palate. This wine has a tannic grip, so decant for 1-2 hours. It’s savoury delicious with a smoky finish. Full-bodied weight. Drink: 2011-2014.  127167  14.50%  XD  750 mL  $13.95  Score: 88/100.
