Château De Gourgazaud Cuvée Mathilde Syrah Blend 2008, A.C., Minervois, Midi, France: Vintages Wine Panel: From the sun-kissed Minervois region in the South of France, this wine consistently over-delivers on quality and value. This rendition is no exception as it easily demonstrates why this blend is so popular with Vintages customers. Offering notes of chocolate, blackberry, mineral, dried herbs and fresh florals on the nose. It follows up with a dry, medium-bodied, layered and complex palate rich in cassis, spice, chocolate and lovely fruit replays. The finish is long, deliciously spicy and cedary. This wine will shine. My note: Terrific value, taste and quality for the money! Juicy, full-bodied and packed with blackberry, dark spices and some pepper. Fleshy black plums are ever so tasty.
