Francis Ford Coppola Zinfandel 2008, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: Exceptionally well-made, fresh Zinfandel with intriguing aromas of dark chocolate, sweet cherry, plum, smoked meat and nettle tea. Dry, ripe, rich and almost sweetly fruity, but nicely pulled back from being jammy by velvety tannins and a fine, zippy acidity. A natural for winter-barbecue. My note: Zingy and savoury with fleshy ripe blackberry and blueberry aromas. Balanced, supple, smooth and wonderful. Drink: 2010-2015. 708289 13.50% D 750 mL $21.95 Score: 90/100.
