Donatien Bahuaud Les Grands Mortiers Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2008, A.C., Loire, France: Vintages Wine Panel: Here’s a very pretty Vouvray that should come as quite a lovely surprise for those unfamiliar with the Chenin Blanc grape, though existing fans will recognize it as classic to form. Tropical fruit aromas with a touch of candle wax woo the senses. On the palate these notes replay nicely, and are made even more seductive by the smooth, almost viscous texture. Medium bodied and dry with just a subtle suggestion of sweetness. My note: Floral and festive with attractive aromas of white peach.
