Had a private tasting of the Wakefield Clare Valley 2010 Shiraz just last week. The wine is drinking like velvet now with lots of cherry, red berry flavours, chocolate and cedar on the palate -- a very elegant wine with lots of layers, balance, structure and long, really long, finish. Can hold to 2017, but very enjoyable now. Cheers!
Wakefield Shiraz 2010, Clare Valley, South Australia, Australia: Here’s a big, ripe Aussie shiraz, with pronounced aromas of oak, blackberry and blueberry alongside some interesting graphite and floral/violet notes. The palate is dry, full and soft, with ripe tannins, medium acidity and lots of chocolate and oak. There are lovely blackberry, plum and black pepper tones throughout the extensive finish.
