Sean O'Regan Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

July 12, 2014: Deep ruby/garnet with an expressive nose of red berry fruit, dried flowers, baking spice, leather and cedar. Medium body with sour cherry, strawberry, raspberry and savoury dried herbs this classic style Rioja has lifted acidity, fine drying tannins and a medium ling finish. Drink now and over the next ten years with grilled beef or lamb. 90+

Rioja Bordón Gran Reserva Bodegas Francos-Españolas Tempranillo 2004, D.O.C.A., Rioja, Spain: A savoury and delicious red with gorgeously ripe black cherry and black raspberry aromas. Layered complexity on the palate with a long finish. A superbly made wine, especially for this price point. Pair with brisket or flank steak.
