Malcolm Lamont rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
Ruby red in colour, this wine exhibits a beautiful nose with jammy fruit, plums and cedar indicating good varietal character for a primitivo, or Zinfandel. Some pronounced structure on the palate, including a good presence of tannins, body and acidity. A lovely and interesting wine!
Mark Cochrane rated this wine as
88/100 with the following review:
There's a lot going in this Primitivo. Nice fruit up front with aromas of plum and spice. I really like the prune flavours on the palate and the wine has a good balance of fruit and acidity with only a very slight bit of bitterness at the end. This wine pairs well with big Italian meals like lasagna or bolognese based dishes. I tried it with a meat based (lightly spiced) spaghetti and it was excellent.
Jane Staples rated this wine as
86/100 with the following review:
Opens on the nose with red plum, prune and dark cherry aromas, then on the palate vanilla, cinnamon and a hint of pepper combine with dark fruit flavours. Spicy finish. Goes well with salami and olives, or tomato-sauced dishes.
