Drink Wine and Giggle Gals rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Toasted Head is named for the toasting of barrel heads that makes a wine taste...um...toasted. The fire-breathing bear on label was inspired by the William Carpenter poem Speaking Fire At Stones in which "Every one of these stones contains a bear. You just have to burn it free." The owners of Toasted Head winery have a gift for metaphor and read poetry--the Drink Wine and Giggle Gals are impressed. If it were a poem, Toasted Head Chardonnay would be a decent love sonnet that butters you up, but not too much. We'll definitely follow Darlene Myers' advice and sample the poetry of Toasted Head Cabernet Sauvignon.
Darlene Myers rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

I used to be an all Red wine drinker, until I tried this wine and one other. This was how I discovered how wonderful white wines can be as well. Anyone who knows me, know I rave about the Toasted Head Cabernet Sauvignon, and I enjoy it on a regular basis. This is another Toasted Head that I can't stop raving about. Smooth like butter is what comes to mind. Smooth and with tastes of vanilla and the toasty oak that this brand is known for. I think it adds scrumptious flavour when a vineyard toasts the barrel staves to impart that mellow toasty flavour.
