Provins Valais Dole Pinot Noir Gamay 2007, Swiss Valley, Switzerland: Vintages Wine Panel: A blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay, this lithe and savoury red is all about elegance. It’s light bodied, and features aromas and flavours of cherry fruit, smoked meat, and tilled earth. Those who love red Burgundy will find a glimmer of recognition in this nonetheless quite unique wine. My note: Very tart and mouth-watering with great acidity. You must like this style, having developed your palate perhaps on young Burgundy. I do. Aromas of zingy cherries and cranberries, but not fleshy sweet fruit ripe at all.
