Casa Lapostolle Cuvée Alexandre Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, Colchagua Valley, Apalta Vineyard, Chile: Vintages Wine Panel: Casa Lapostolle is the only Chilean winery to have the talents of international wine consultant Michel Rolland at its disposal. This muscular Cabernet is handpicked from the same 60-year-old vines as the winery’s flagship wine, Clos Apalta. Big and brawny, it’s full of blackberry, raspberry, cocoa and toasty oak flavours, with firm tannins and a long finish. Decant an hour before serving or cellar for 2-4+ years. My note: So smooth and long, takes you in gently… a killing-me-softly with gorgeous flavour and texture. Full-bodied with a deeply satisfying finish. Loaded with ark fleshy fruit. Drink: 2010-2015. 947929 14.50% XD 750 mL $34.95 Score: 93/100. October 2, 2010 Favourite Red Wine (Tied). Full Review
