Corte Giara Allegrini Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2008, D.O.C., Veneto, Italy: Vintages Wine Panel: The popularity of Ripasso wines has soared over the past decade, and for good reason. Rich aromas of black plum, raspberry, and strawberry join with earthy notes of tar and licorice. The flavours echo the aromas, repeating on the palate through a dry, flavourful finish. A delicious and perfect complement for the rich gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce flavours that accompany a traditional Thanksgiving feast. My note: Love it! Juicy delicious with aromas of purple plums and blackberries. Some dark cherries prance down the middle of this wine leaving you thirsty for a top up. Have fun with it!
