Marchetti Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi Classico Verdicchio 2008, D.O.C., Marche, Italy: Vintages Wine Panel: The Verdicchio grape gets its name from the Italian word “verde” (green), for its greenish skin. Opening up with aromas of fresh herbs and floral accents, with a delicate touch of lanolin, this crisp white delivers a ripe fruit centre, with flavours of citrus, pear, pine nuts and some good floral notes. Medium bodied, showing fresh acidity and good length. An unbeatable value. Try it tonight. My note: Fresh, green and acidic, this zesty wine delivers maximum refreshment.
