Solar Viejo Alavesa Crianza 2006, D.O.C.A., Rioja, Spain: Vintages Wine Panel: Deep ruby colour. This traditional-styled Crianza exhibits aromas of blackberry, currant and plum along with nicely integrated oak, mocha and earth notes. There’s good acidity, moderate tannins, and a delectable finish of ripe fruit and sweet spice. Open this Spanish delight this evening. My note: Mellow with leather and dark berry flavour. Very smooth. Good acidity for food. Tastes more mature than it is. 167635 13.50% D 750 mL $15.95 Score: 87/100. July 24, 2010 Full Review
