A heady nose of earth, vanilla, cedar and dark berries is followed-up by a full finish that holds the reminiscence of something sweet. The tannins are a little rough, but are balanced out by the fullness of the wine.

The Winery Of Good Hope Pinot Noir 2008, Stellenbosch, South Africa: Black cherries and a silky texture. Grapes come from the Elgin region, which is cool and high altitude with cloud cover. The vines experience true dormancy in the winter and therefore have deeper root systems and pick up more nuances. Complex and lovely.
