James Belardo rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The Argento Bonarda is another inexpensive wine offered by Argentinian wine makers Argento. The grape Bonarda has Italian roots, but not very explicit or clear which particular variety.

The roots of the Argentinian Bonarda grape may be the Bonarda Piemontese or Bonarda Novarese, (no one's quite sure) and until the Malbec has blossomed in popularity, the Bonarda grape was the most widely grown wine grape in Argentina. The reason for this was it's ease in cultivation and it's relatively quick production to make a half decent wine. In fact, it had become the grape-of-choice for making table wine. So basically, it's been overlooked.

If it weren't for my experience tasting Malbec wines, I might have passed this up too. This was a great personal discovery and a very pleasant surprise. I need to get more.

Mark Britton rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

According to Argento themselves Bonarda is the "second most important grape variety in Argentina" behind of course Malbec. This Bonarda is a pretty full bodied version with oak, plum, and pepper coming through. Let it decant a bit and you should be fine, otherwise the tannins are a bit tough. Certainly tastes higher priced than $9.95.
