Lacheteau Les Loges Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2008, A.C., Loire, France: Vintages Wine Panel: Vouvray is the most significant white wine appellation in the Touraine. The appellation’s soil composition has proven ideal for the Chenin Blanc grape variety. Fermented at low temperatures to slowly extract all the flavours possible, this medium-dry, superbly balanced Chenin Blanc displays layers of peach, pear, lemon and apricot. A great sipper, or let it develop in the cellar (2-3 years). My note: I love it! Although it’s off-dry, there’s no cloying sweetness, only mouth-watering extra-ripe peach and pears. This is a lovely wine for those who love flavour but not heavy oak. 525105 12% MD 750 mL $14.95 Score: 90/100. March 6, 2010 BEST VALUE WHITE WINE. Full Review
