This cool climate pinot noir is quite amazing! Ripe, rich cherries that are mixed with spice and vanilla. It is very aromatic and on the palette there are juicy replays of the nose. Surprisingly high in alcohol at 14.5%, but with balance of flavours, aromas and racy acidity it is a perfect example of what they do really well in New Zealand. Pairs well with burgers, lamb chops or even grilled chicken.
Greystone Pinot Noir 2009, Waipara Valley, South Island, New Zealand: Love this spicy, racy character! Lots of mouth-watering acidity that's perfect for food. Tart cherries dance across your senses. Love it! Drink: 2012-2016. 271312 14.50% XD 750 mL $37.95 Score: 91/100. June 23, 2012 Top Rated Red Wine. Full Review
