Mark Britton rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Catena is one of the best producers in Argentina and this version of their Cab Sauv almost comes across as a classic Napa Valley version. Heavy oak on the nose and palate and spicy with classic hints of blackberry, cassis, and blackcurrant. The only difference was this wine actually showed quite mild and soft tannins for a big cab... which personally I am not against in the least.

Catena Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Mendoza, Argentina: Smoky, dark and brooding with aromas of blackcurrant and cassis. A rare earthiness here that's not present in most New World reds, but literally grounds this well-made wine. Drink: 2012-2016. 985002 13.90% XD 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 90/100. May 26, 2012  Full Review
