Andrew Bernardo Wine Journal rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Black briars, cherries, warm spice, eucalypt (classic of Coonawarra), toasted fennel, cumin and sweet earth. There's a lot packed into this tight frame. Definitely not "open-textured". Makes you think a little bit more than a Barossa Shiraz. 91+ (

Majella Shiraz 2008, Coonawarra, South Australia, Australia: A big, black bruiser of a wine with towering structure. Loaded with black fruit and lots of oak. Full-bodied and fairly smooth, though decanting for 2 hours will help. Bring it! Drink: 2012-2015. 269308 15% XD 750 mL  $29.95 Score: 90/100. April 28, 2012  Full Review
