Château De Fontarèche Vieilles Vignes Selection Carignan Syrah Mourvèdre Grenache 2007, A.C., Corbières, Midi, France: Vintages Wine Panel: Winner of a Silver Medal at the Concours Interprofessionnel des Grands Vins de Corbières 2008. This blend of Carignan, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache from vines (average age) 35 years old, features a highly expressive nose of raspberry, strawberry, mineral and garrigue. Dry, full flavoured and crisp with supple tannins. The fruits and minerality replay nicely on the palate. My note: A simple, rustic rough-and-ready red that’s very tasty! Robust aromas and flavours of blackberry, black raspberry and cassis. Some cedary notes lie underneath. Yum squared. 150540 13.50% XD 750 mL $12.95 Score: 87/100. February 6, 2010 Full Review
