Stags' Leap Winery Merlot 2007, Napa Valley, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: A big, generous, layered Merlot from a stellar vintage in Napa. Deep ruby with aromas of black cherry, dark chocolate, smoked meat and forest floor. Dry, plush-textured with fine fruit tones at the centre, surrounded by chunky, velvety-smooth tannins. Medium-full bodied with a long, fruity, tannin-supported finish. My note: Classic and aristocratic. The length, breadth and depth of this wine are incredible. Savoury and delicious. Perfect for dinner parties. Drink: 2012-2018. 655399 14.60% D 750 mL $44.95 Score: 94/100. November 26, 2011 Full Review
