For an inexpensive wine not bad. Better with food then as a sipper.

A strong nose with pepper, oak, and some blueberry coming through. On the palate you will nose fairly astringent tannins so a bit more ageing or some more time in the decanter would do this wine very well. The wine also showed better with food, a nice pairing with duck, than it did as a sipper. Overall a nice wine, but there are far better Rioja's out there.

I just found my "memories of Spain" wine. I spent the weekend trying inexpensive red wine from Spain trying to recapture the taste memories of my summer there. Beronia 2009 is the one. This is my new house wine for the year. Real rioja ripeness of a hot dry summer with fruit in the background. I love it!
