This Grand Cru from the Right Bank of the famous Bordeaux region in France is loaded with big ripe dark berry-fruit, vanilla, and mouthwatering charcoal-grilled beef. The aromas remind me of a charcoal roasted beef tenderloin with hollandaise sauce I enjoyed in Kelowna, BC a few years back. This is a well structured wine, with great acidity and mouth-coating tannins that helps support the beautiful layers of dark fruits, chocolate, and charcoal grilled peppers. Chateau Pipeau 2008 is drinking great now and should for another 5+ years, but why wait! Drink 2015-2022. Tasted January 2015. 91 points. Matt Steeves - @QuercusVino
Château Pipeau Meritage 2008, A.C., Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France: Loaded with oak: the wood comes first then blackberries and cassis. Well-structured and complex, but you must love oak! Drink: 2011-2016. 138115 13% XD 750 mL $29.00 Score: 90/100. October 15, 2011 Full Review
