aromas of spices, earthiness, a bit of black and sour cherry, leather, and almost a bit of a burlap note. Quite attractive aromas. The taste is tart cherry with the leather from the aroma carrying through with a bright 'booziness' to it. The mouth feel is silky with lots of fine, aged tannins. The finish is warm, tannic, cherry.
I'm pairing this wine with a rare 'sous vide' beef tenderloin. The tannins should go very well with rare beef.
