Open Riesling Gewurztraminer 2009, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: The pretty floral notes and zesty lime refreshment are terrific with a wide range of dishes, as well as making this an excellent aperitif. The wine also proves that wine and vegetables can make a terrific match. Lovely balance, packed with flavour but no heavy oak. Featherstone Winery Featherstone Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Niagara Escarpment, Ontario, Canada: Mango notes with lovely lifted white floral note through the centre. Tawse Winery Inc. Riesling 2010, VQA Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: The grapes for this excellent riesling were sourced from multiple vineyards in the area. The vines were cluster-thinned. There's a lovely zippy lime-fresh streak running through it, chased by lemon lightning. It finishes with notes of chives, grapefruit and the overwhelming desire for more.
