Dominio Del Plata Crios De Susana Balbo Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Mendoza, Argentina: An absolutely incredible wine for the money! Juicy, savoury and delicious: full-bodied with rich layers of ripe plums, blackberry and other dark fruits. 640979 14% D 750 mL  $12.95 Score: 90/100. July 10, 2010 Best Value Red Wine (Tied). Viña Casablanca El Bosque Winemaker's Choice Syrah 2008, Rapel Valley, Chile: Vintages Wine Panel: Sourced from the Rapel Valley, this Chilean Syrah is aiming more for the Rhône than Australian style. This charmer features aromas of pepper, blackberry and underbrush with only a hint of New World big ripeness. Enjoy this fine wine around the barbecue. This winery is certified Carbon Neutral. My note: Fantastic delicious at a ridiculously low price! Love this: it’s got all the power and lusciousness of New World fruit but it’s balanced and has great length on the finish too. What more could you want except a case of it? 46276 14.50% D 750 mL  $14.95 Score: 90/100. July 10, 2010 Full Review
La Garde Des Lions Visan Les Coteaux Visan 2007, A.C., Côtes Du Rhône-Villages, Rhône, France: VC : Gold Medal winner at the 2008 Vinsobres Concours Interprofessionnel des Vins AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages. Aromas of berry, vanilla and spice abound here. The palate shows good fruit replays, with ripe plum, blackberry and raspberry prominent. Nice vanilla notes and a spicy mid palate leading to a concentrated finish. My note: Buy a case of this wine: it’s staggeringly great for the money! A river of dark cherry liqueur concentration runs through its heart wrapped in some woodsmoke and dark spices. This is liquid sensuality. Full-bodied and smooth with lovely long finish. Bring it on! Drink: 2011-2016. 222588 14% D 750 mL  $14.95 Score: 90/100. June 25, 2011 Best Value Red Wine. Luscious Lamb Wine Full Review
Jean-Paul Brun Beaujolais 2008, A.C., Moulin-À-Vent, Beaujolais, France: Full-bodied, which is surprising for Beaujolais, but this is terrific! Deep rich vein of sweet cherry liqueur (it is a dry wine), dark spices and lovely fat fleshy plums. Double delicious and perfect for movie night. Drink: 2010-2015. 178301 12% XD 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 91/100. July 10, 2010 Full Review
Willy Gisselbrecht Riesling 2007, A.C., Alsace, France: Vintages Wine Panel: This fine Riesling’s reputation precedes it. The wine took home a Silver Medal at Grand Concours des Vins d’Alsace de Colmar 2008. Brimming with ripe citrus fruit, bright acidity and a lovely claystone minerality. My note: Love it! Mouth-watering (drenching) acidity with lime fruit, flint, mineral depth. Phenomenal. 169011 12.50% D 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 92/100. June 26, 2010 Favourite White Wine (Tied). Full Review
M. Chapoutier Les Vignes De Bila-Haut 2008, A.C., Côtes Du Roussillon-Villages, Midi, France: Love it! This wine has it all: balance, length, great extraction of rich black cherry and spice flavour. Drown me in this and don’t bother with a rescue please. Incredible price: must be an accounting error. Drink: 2010-2016. 168716 14% D 750 mL  $15.00 Score: 91/100. June 26, 2010 Best Value Red Wine (Tied). Full Review
Spadina Una Viola Signature Syrah 2006, I.G.T., Sicily, Italy: Rich and deep with gorgeous layers of smoky black raspberries, mocha-dark chocolate and black cherries galore. Velvet texture with a pleasingly long finish. Drink: 2010-2015. 171629 13.50% D 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 90/100. June 26, 2010 Best Value Red Wine (Tied). Full Review
