Kaiken Ultra Malbec 2008, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina: Big black beautiful bruiser of a wine. Aromas of blackberries and plums. Supple and delicious. Drink: 2010-2015. 50849 14.50% D 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 89/100. December 11, 2010 Full Review

Urban Uco Bodegas Y Viñedos O. Fournier Malbec Tempranillo 2010, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina: Lovely! I like how Tempranillo fleshes out the malbec here. It makes for a lip-smacking delicious combination of dark fleshy fruit. Terrific price. 166397 14% D 750 mL  $13.95 Score: 90/100. January 7, 2012 Best Value Red Wine. Perfect Pasta and Tomato Sauce Wine Full Review
Kaiken Rose Malbec 2008, Mendoza, Argentina: Love it! A field of ripe strawberries: refreshing and bone dry. Lovely acidity and amazing quality. The winemaker used the press method rather than saignee and a low-temperature fermentation to create a wine of elegance. 12% D 750 mL  $15.00 Score: 89/100. June 12, 2009 Full Review
Sister's Run Shiraz 2009, Calvary Hill, Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia: Winemaker Elena Brooks’ ready for anything approach to her work inspired the Sister’s Run label. On at least one occasion, while changing from high heels to work boots and while wearing one of each, ran into the winery to deal with a crisis. This wine is full bodied with concentrated dark fruits and spice, fun, but serious enough for either a formal or informal barbecue. A perky, full-bodied red that delivers lots of pleasure and no offense. Black plums berries roll across your mouth: no stops or starts, all liquid pleasure. Perfect for the barbecue. 222018 14.50% XD 750 mL  $18.75 Score: 88/100. January 21, 2012 Full Review
Montes Limited Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Carmenère 2008, Colchagua Valley, Apalta Vineyard, Chile: Juicy purple plums rush out the glass (be sure to catch them). Full-bodied with rivers of fleshy fruit flavour. 16071 14.50% XD 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 88/100. March 6, 2010 Full Review
Montes Limited Selection Carménere 2009, Apalta Vineyard, Colchagua Valley, Chile: Rich, black cherry liqueur aromas and flavours. Ultra-plush and voluptuous. Smooth and satisfying sensual pleasure. Drink: 2012-2015. 256685 14.50% XD 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 90/100. February 4, 2012 Best Value Red Wine. Heavenly Hamburger Wine Full Review
Spier Wines Vintage Selection Pinotage 2006, W.O., Coastal Region, South Africa: Vintages Wine Panel: Supple, beautifully structured Pinotage featuring clean aromas of blackberry, vanilla and mint. Dry and quite fruity, with gentle acids and tannins bringing balance. Medium bodied with a lingering finish. My note: Intriguing notes of blueberries and purple plums. Full-bodied and satiny supple on the palate. Loads of satisfying flavour. Perfect for pizza and a movie. 146928 14.50% D 750 mL  $17.95 Score: 88/100. June 12, 2010 Best Value Red Wine. Luscious Lamb Wine Full Review
Ravenswood Old Vine Zinfandel 2009, Lodi, California, United States: This wine makes me wonder why I don't drink more zinfandel. Its juicy and meaty with seductive black cherry and berry fruit yet not over the top. I'd even call this wine elegant... Not an adjective usually associated with zinfandel, generally characterized as pure exuberance in a glass. A superb effort. Drink: 2012-2016. 942599 14.50% XD 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 92/100. February 4, 2012 Top Rated Red Wine. Complete Cheese Pizza Wine Full Review
Ravenswood Single Vineyard Belloni Zinfandel 2008, Russian River Valley, Sonoma, California, United States: Black cherry liqueur with decadent richness and berry juiciness in this full-bodied red.
