Alamos Seleccion Malbec 2013, Mendoza, Argentina: A robust red with great depth and complexity at an excellent price point. Syrah add so much character to this blend with fleshy blackberries and cherries. It's full-bodied, balanced and smooth. Perfect for grilled meats and hard cheeses. Highly recommended. Drink: 2013-2018. 322800 13.50% XD 750 mL  $18.95 Score: 90/100. June 24, 2017 Best Value Red Wine. Heavenly Hamburger Wine Full Review
1865 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, Maipo Valley, Chile: Love it! Superb complexity, depth and heft for the money. Each of the wines for the San Pedro line comes from its own selected vineyard planted with a specific variety, in this case fleshy ripe Cabernet Sauvignon that's surprisingly aromatic. Notes of blackberry and cassis. Finishes with mocha and dark spice. The grapes are grown in the Alto Maipo Valley in high altitude vineyards planted 40 years ago in clay loam soils on an alluvial terrace with cobblestone 50 centimetres (20 inches) below the surface to create excellent drainage and superbly concentrated wine. Drink: 2014-2018. 37911 14.50% D 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 92/100. July 19, 2014 Best Value Red Wine. Heavenly Hamburger Wine Full Review
Santa Alicia Gran Reserva De Los Andes Carmenère 2011, Maipo Valley, Chile: Minty black plum aromas on the nose that open to a fleshy seductive richness on the palate. Full-bodied and supple. I like that the fruit doesn't taste sweet but more savoury. Great food wine, and all-round terrific wine for the money. Carmenère is definitely one of Chile's signature red wine grapes, and it shows in this example. Drink: 2013-2017. 93831 14% XD 750 mL  $15.95 Score: 92/100. August 2, 2014 Best Value Red Wine. Epica Red San Pedro 2012, San Antonio Valley, Chile: Chocolate and mocha on the nose followed by more sweet flavours on the palate along with sweet blackberries. Full-bodied and smooth. Nice price. Pair with hearty meat dishes that have a touch of sweetness or are charred. Drink: 2013-2016. 350520 13.50% D 750 mL  $14.95 Score: 86/100. August 3, 2014 Heavenly Hamburger Wine Full Review
