Sportoletti Assisi Rosso DOC 2009 2009

Umbria, Italy

My Review: Ruby red color with touches of violet. Aromatic layers of dark red fruit, sweet herbs, licorice and new leather come together in this juicy wine. The palate is juicy with dark red fruit, balsamic black currant and hints of herbs is complemented with a good tannic bite and persistent finish

Cantina di Casteggio Sangue di Giuda 2010

    Otrepo Pavese DOC, Lombardy, Italy

My Review: This is a brilliant light red slightly sparkling wine with an aromatic nose of fresh, ripe cherry with hints of blackberry and delicious savory notes. The juicy flavors of ripe cherry and blackberry has medium sweetness and is balanced with light tannins that pairs well with desserts - like a rich chocolate fudge cake. Score: 85/100
