Creekside Estate Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Niagara Escarpment, Ontario, Canada

Reviewed: January 3, 2012

$13.95

My Review: This is my idea of a yummy Sauvignon Blanc: light and crisp it goes down easy with lemon, grass, melon and just a hint of green pea on the nose. There's something a little sweet on the finish, like a jolt of pineapple under all that tart acidity. Great for sipping in the afternoon. Score: 90/100

    87/100

    Chateau Des Charmes Aligotè 2009

    Niagara, Canada

My Review: In the glass this is a very light coloured wine with aromas of citrus, pear, apple and a bit of grass (oh Spring, now I know where you've gone). At 13% alcohol there's a little mouth coating feel, but that gets followed up very quickly with a zingy finish. Score: 87/100

      Beaujolais Superieur - Bouchard Aine

      France

      $11.99

My Review: A good value wine with lots of red cherry fruit, perfumy lilac aromas, and something like candy apple this? simple wine has a balanced, acidic finish that would work well with lots of food. Charcuterie? Grilled ribs? Score: 83/100

            Ogio Primitivo Rosé 2010

            Italy

My Review: Very pale pink; floral and grassy aromas with strawberry and cranberry fruit. Crisp with a tart lime finish and medium-bodied on the palate. Score: 85/100
